In one of our cooking features, Chef Lea McIntosh invited design icon Christopher Peacock to cook with her at his kitchen showroom in San Francisco. Lea challenged herself to create a high-end party using original recipes for slow-cookers. See how she proves that crockpot cooking is chic!

In the entertaining section, we show you how to re-interpret six of our favorite over-the-top table vignettes from Dining By Design San Francisco. Boston interior designer Jennifer Rowland Clapp welcomes us into her home and sets a table that mixes modern with vintage for an interesting study in contrasts. She also introduces us to one of her favorite hot spots, Lekker Home—an alluring home store located in Boston’s trendy South End.

Highlights in decorating include Girly-girl Spaces—distinctively feminine rooms by popular designers, including Melanie Coddington, Julie Massucco, Melissa Warner, and Carrie Miller—all on House Beautiful’s list of the Next Wave of Interior Designers to Watch in 2010. Top designer Jay Jeffers is the issue’s Iconic Nester who shares how he keeps his work fresh and exuberant.

There’s so much more to discover—check out the must-haves for your kitchen pantry and your home, and discover our favorite foodie, event, and design blogs. Christopher Peacock Home and Blissliving.com have special discount offers for Nesting Newbie readers.

You’ll find the magazine at nestingnewbies.com. Don’t forget to enter to win the Bluebird Bag, our Mag Swag Bag worth $1,514! And if you live in the San Francisco Bay Area, you can also enter to win a SkinSpirit Spa day worth $350 (both contests end March 15).
