My favorite holiday tradition is the train around the Christmas tree. Memories of sneaking into the living room and racing it around the track until i was caught or it derailed. :) I think every Christmas tree needs to have a train race around it. :)
OMG, I haven’t had Hickory Farms since I was a little kid. Gosh that brings back so many memories of me shopping with my mom at the Hickory Farms store to pick out gifts for family/friends.
Holiday tradition – decorating our silver foil christmas tree and lighting it with the color wheel so it was a rainbow of colors. So 70s, but it was pretty!
My favorite holiday tradition is waking up super early on Christmas morning and opening up all of our gifts before breakfast (but after coffee). Thanks for the giveaway!
My favoite tradition is that every year for our Christmas meal we serve Fondue. We have been enjoying fondue since the mid 70′s. We have the Meat Fondue, Cheese Fondue, and Chocolate Fondue( my favorite). The Cheese and Chocolate fondue are homemade and are absolutely delcious. Yummy Yummy I can’t wait!
I’m excited about starting a new holiday tradition this year…we have a 2.5 year old and a 1 year old, and our 2.5 year old is old enough to help me cook now. So Christmas morning, she is going to help me make our classic big breakfast (egg casserole, strawberry smoothies, bacon, muffins) and after breakfast, we’ll bake a birthday cake for Jesus. Can’t wait!
I like white lights on the tree, my boyfriend likes color …. so we’ve decided to alternate every year. We’ve got white this year!
My favorite holiday tradition…just being with family! I love the idea of being in the same room with so many people I love, what an amazing feeling!!!
Sadly, I won’t be able to do that this year, but we’ll Skpye each other.

My favorite holiday tradition is baking for everyone!
We always hang our stockings that my late Grandma needlepointed for us and read the messages that she put in each one for us. Such fond memories of a wonderful woman!
Hickory Farms! OOh reminds me of Christmas with my foster mom. My new holiday tradition this year is celebrating with my new Austrian in-laws; full of yummy baked German sweets/cakes!!
My favorite holiday memory – My family is from Mexico and for days before Christmas eve my mom, aunts, grandmother and her friends would come over and prepare tamales (dozens of them) for the big dinner. Women would sit around the table, laughing and talking, while the kids would orbit around them. The smells of fresh pastries and wonderful foods in a warm cozy home bring back the fondest memories…
A Christmas tradition we started in 1983 when our oldest daughter married followed by our youngest in 1985. How do we do the Holidays so it’s fair for both families especially when there was a matter of distance involved. We came up with a plan to have the girls every other Holiday. When we have them for Thanksgiving, they went to their in-law’s for Christmas and when we had them for Christmas they went to their in-law’s for Thanksgiving. It has always worked out for us and I feel is what Christmas is all about sharing and love for both families.
My favorite tradition is our Christmas Eve night. We have dinner (ham and wild rice soup with johnny cake) and then go to church. When we get home, we exchange presents =)

I would love to be entered in your giveaway, my favorite tradition is that we light tea lights christmas eve and christmas day for all that are no longer with us, we light 5, and the flicker of the candle helps us and lets us know they are still with us. We also give the grand kids a new pair of pj’s to wear to bed the night before christmas, they love it
Our tradition is to deliver Secret Santa cookie plates to people we know and love each year.

my hubby and I have had some rough spots in our relationship and unfortunately we have never had any true traditions. This year (Sunday last, to be specific) we have decided to create some of our own. We are putting up a miniature tree and will make little tiny presents with giant gifts inside them…the gifts will be the reasons we love each other and the Lord. And we will open them on Christmas morning with a prayer that we can serve Him better in the coming year.
I hope this will count – thanks for the giveaway!

We just started a new one this year. Have soup for dinner and make ginerbread houses the Monday before Christmas. I had never make a ginerbread house before. We had a blast!
My favorite Christmas tradition are the stockings. My mom always goes above and beyond when it comes to the stocking stuffers. I remember looking forward to Christmas morning and being able to open my stocking. We were allowed to open our stockings when we woke up, but had to wait for Mom and Dad to get up before presents were opened. I am now grown with children of my own. Mom no longer does stockings for us “big kids”, but she puts them together for all of her grandkids. Now, instead of looking forward to opening my own stocking, I look forward to watching my boys open theirs!!
My favorite Christmas tradition starts before Christmas. My sister and I and all our kids get together at my Mom’s house to bake cookies. The day is full of laughter, fun and flour. Hugs from Paraguay

My family always has pizza on china with strawberry daiquiris on Christmas Eve. It’s my favorite thing!
My mom and I follow our family (Peruvian) tradition of making a huge and extravegant natavity scene (Nacimiento) covering half of the living room. We have little animals, a forest made of left over Christmas tree branches, huge mountains with tons of different scenarios that lead up to the birth of baby Jesus. Over the years we have added to our collection and I would notice my childhood toys missing….when Christmas came, I could always find them in this Nacimiento. It always makes me laugh to remember finding Darth Vader hanging out with the 3 Wise Men. LOL
My little one is 2 this year and so I am starting a bunch of new traditions now that she is a little older and can participate. Christmas cookies for Santa, Gingerbread House you name it!

Traditions! I love them! They bring the family together and give the little ones something to remember. I like doing the advent calendar with the little gift for each day. Something exciting for each of the 25 mornings!
My favorite holiday tradition is adding a new Christmas tree ornament to my collection. My parents started me on this tradition when I was 6 years old. Ever since I have searched holiday stores each year, looking for that special ornament. Sometimes I pick one that represents a major change in my life, such as a snowmen representing the new city I moved to for my freshman year of college. Othertimes it’s one of whimsy and fun, like the oversized “little red riding hood” ornament, still my favorite! I’m in my early 20s now and this is still a tradition I love–and will definitely start with my own children someday.
One of our traditions when I lived with my parents was having fired Hickory Farms beef stick with a sweet dipping sauce for breakfast!
One of our traditions is to open one gift on Christmas Eve after dinner. It’s a nice time and helps the kids get through the looong wait until Christmas morning!
My daughter and I did something new this year. We handmade our Christmas cards to family members/close friends. Alot of work but it was worth the effort :0
First of all, my hubby loves, loves, loves these sets from Hickory Farms! My favorite tradition is baking gingerbread girls and boys and decorating them with my mom! Since I’ve loved that so much for so long and recently moved away from my family I’ve started hosting a cookie exchange with friends and neighbors. We had such a blast this year that I plan to keep this one as a “tradition” for sure. Thanks for the great blog and super-fun giveaway! :)

One of my favorite holiday traditions has to do with the way our family opens gifts. When I was about 5, my family started opening gifts “in the round”. One by one, youngest to oldest, each person would open one gift at a time. This allows for the whole family to see what gifts are given, pictures to be taken, and the time to be savored.

Our tradition is the stockings. I didn’t have them growing up and now we go a little crazy with them. They don’t just bulge, they overflow and often require backup stockings. I care more about what goes into those than the real presents.
